Lyrics
What a show when the beauty raced the roaring train!
Remember?
What a blow when they shot the hero in the lane!
Remember?

Did you know how they hypnotized the villain’s brain?
We’ll explain,
It’s sensational! Educational! Inspirational!
When the lights go low at the nickelodeon movie show!
Your heart beats quicker as the shadows flicker.
Lady, won’t you please remove your hat!
Injuns bake the hero at the stake!
See it at the nickel-o-o-deon.

The gal’s in danger from the tall dark stranger
And the hero’s in a burning vat;
An evil spell pursues our Nell!
That’s life at the nickel-o-o-deon!
Your best girl you’ve invited,
You sit there cheek to cheek;
You think that you’re excited
But you ought-a see what happens next week!

It’s really thrillin’ when you hiss the villain,
As you stamp your feet and kick the slat.
You’ll see a sight as you hold her tight
At the nickel-o-deon ev’ry Saturday night!

Your heart beats quicker as the shadows flicker.
Lady, won’t you please remove your hat!
Injuns bake the hero at the stake!
See it at the nickel-o-o-deon.

The gal’s in danger from the tall dark stranger
And the hero’s in a burning vat;
An evil spell pursues our Nell!
That’s life at the nickel-o-o-deon!

Your best girl you’ve invited,
You sit there cheek to cheek;
You think that you’re excited
But you ought-a see what happens next week!

You plant your denture in a great adventure
And you wanna loosen your cravat.
You may go white but it ends up right
At the nickel-o-deon ev’ry Saturday night!
